I know Malamutes are notorious for digging. And some of mine still do. But with the proper training they will Stay out of your flower beds. As puppies, when I see mine get in my gardens, I squirt them with the water hose. They do not like that. It teaches them to stay out. Also, if they do like to dig a lot, give them a sandbox outside so they can dig in it. That way I can have some great flower beds and my Malamutes get to live.
